ATL Sports Showdown Michael Moore

We’re getting even further into the football season, getting ready for the basketball season, and are starting to wrap on other sports in Atlanta! Our Host Reporter, Michael Moore covers it all on another episode of the ATL Sports Showdown!

This week Michael talks about how our Falcons and Braves had a tough run. The Falcons played against the Steelers in an away game with a lacking defense which proved to hurt their plays. Michael highlights Austin Hooper for his efforts in being one of the players to pull through for the team this game, making a few first down conversions. Antonio Brown of the Steelers proved to be one of the challenges for the Falcons with 2 touchdowns for 101 yards. Matt Ryan pushed going 285 yards but was only able to score one touchdown. Julio Jones also struggle with 62 yards and no touchdowns during the game. With Pittsburgh having 131 yards rushing against our 62, our few conversions, and the Steelers constant scoring left us with an unfortunate loss with 17- 34. This doesn’t mean it’s over for the Falcons. There’s still hope as Michael mentions their next game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they have been having some struggles as well.

Our Braves came through in their first playoffs game at the Suntrust Park. Ronald Acuña Jr. gets props on the show for being one of the youngest players to hit a grand slam during a postseason game, at just 20 years old! Freddie Freeman also made major moves for this game by hitting a home run, turning the game to 6-5. The Braves also managed to strike out the last batter, helping us to victory!

Our Yellow Jackets were on a roll again against the Louisville Cardinals, 66-31. With 542 rushing yards from Tech and 12 passing yards, we showed just how powerful we can be in this game.

The Bulldogs are also on a roll, now at the #2 position in the country after their victory against the Vanderbilt Commodores, 41-13! Michael recognizes Jake Fromm, for having 276 yards passing with 3 touchdowns as one of his best performances. Holyfield also receives recognition for leading the running backs with 64 rushing yards and 1 touchdown! At 4-0 in the conference and another game coming up against LSU, we are looking forward to seeing what UGA can do in one of the biggest games they’ll have.

The Hawks had a preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Former Hawks player, Dennis Schröder gained 20 point in the game, playing for Oklahoma. Trae Young, a rookie, did his best but, was only able to get 16 in comparison. Even so, he still had a good run.
